Luna Park Melbourne celebrates summer with three new rides

Melbourne landmark Luna Park has been operating at near peak capacity since introducing three new rides for the school summer holiday period.

Coinciding with the heritage attraction's 101st anniversary of the Park and the 100th anniversary of its iconic Carousel, Luna Park Melbourne wheeled out three new and exciting rides to keep guests of all ages entertained over the summer break.

The new rides were: the electrifying thrill ride, The Power Surge; the wet and wild 'aqua' coaster Pirates Revenge; and the Bumper Bubbles.

Set to become a permanent fixture at Luna Park, Power Surge has its riders seated in an open carriage where they spin, twist and twirl as they are catapulted high and low reaching heights ofmore than 17 metres into the air.

Pirate's Revenge has riders cruising on water before plunging downward in a wall of spray while, for more water thrills, riders can virtually walk on water in the giant air filled balls of Bumper Bubbles.

Welcoming the new rides, Luna Park Melbourne Chief Executive Mary Stuart stated "nothing says summer tradition like a trip to Melbourne's Luna Park and what better way to cool down than with an ice cream and a drenching on the Pirate's Revenge."

Luna Park Melbourne's old favourites have maintained their popularity through the summer school holidays with the signature Scenic Railway and the stunning 100-year-old Carousel proving why they are still a much-loved attraction for so many Melburnians and tourists alike.
