Inland NSW Tourism secures marketing funding
Inland NSW Tourism has received funding through the 2014/15 Regional Visitor Economy Fund for three destination appeal campaigns to promote tourism across the region.
The funds of more than $480,000 will help promote camping and caravan touring and support NSW’s goal to double overnight visitor spending by the year 2020.
Explaining that the funds will allow the organisation to deliver campaigns that will help increase visitors to NSW, Inland NSW Chief Executive Graham Perry stated ‘these campaigns, which will be run in conjunction with industry and media partners, help support our shared goal of doubling overnight visitor spend by 2020 through tangible consumer promotions that inspire visitation and conversion.
“Growth in visitation to the region is not only about securing new visitors but also about getting existing visitors to stay longer and spend more in region.
“The promotion of tours and trails and caravan and camping is a key to achieving this.”
The Touring and Caravan and Camping Destination Campaign will receive the funding to support its television programs and media which promote the arts, culture, heritage and culinary aspects of inland NSW destinations.
The grant funding is also being used for the Great Big Adventures Campaign which aims to increase holidays to the Great Western Plains area of NSW. This funding aims to help extend the success of the 2014 Dubbo and Surrounds Destination Appeal Program and provide special offers from regional operators to drive visitors to the area.
The final campaign to receive the funding is the New England High Country Touring Campaign. The program will target on-road motorcyclists through a combined marketing scheme to promote motorcycle touring itineraries and products.
Inland NSW Tourism is the regional tourism organisation covering more than 25% of NSW, with a population base of more than 500,000 people, representing 27.5% of all tourism operators and destinations in NSW, and 34% of the local government areas in NSW.
