Hume City Council advises of death at Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre

Hume City Council has advised that a patron at the Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre died on this morning (Saturday 10th June).

The Council released a press advisory stating "centre staff followed all correct procedures in response to the situation by calling Triple Zero and immediately administering CPR in an attempt to resuscitate the patron, but those efforts were unsuccessful.

"Paramedics and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade attended the scene following the emergency call, and the Centre was subsequently closed to allow investigations to take place. At this stage the Centre will re-open at 8am, Sunday 11th June.

"Centre staff are receiving support through Council’s Employee Assistance Program."

The team at Broadmeadows and Hume City Council shared “we express our condolences to friends and family of the deceased at this difficult time.”

Council notes that anyone who was on site or has been impacted by this incident and requires support is encouraged to contact Hume City Council on 03 9205 2200, adding “we express our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
