Technogym equipping refurbished gym at Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre

The gym at Hume City Council’s Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre will be closed for four days from Monday for the installation of new Technogym equipment which, the Council says will give its user “more variety and improve your experience exercising with us”.

In a Facebook post, the Council advises of the need for the “exciting and essential equipment upgrade” with the new equipment including:

• 12 treadmills, skill runs, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, cross trainers, stair climbers, rowers and an arm ergociser.

• 27 pin-loaded equipment

• Olympic benches, adjustable and flat benches, half racks and smith machine.

• Dumbbell sets, bumper and Olympic plates.

The improvements also include upgrade to the gym’s Les Mills Group Fitness steps, bars and plates.

During the temporary closure, members will have access to the Council’s other gym at the Splash Aquatic and Leisure Centre and Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre while the rest of the Centre, including group fitness classes, will be in operation during this period.

Removing its older equipment the facility is disposing of its old equipment through a third-party auction house.

The gym is expected to reopen with its new equipment next Friday.
