Gym owners must embrace digital integration

The Ignite Fitness Business event in Melbourne on Thursday 14th September, is to address how gym owners must embrace digital integration into their marketing and learn new application skills that generate profit.

Ignite Fitness Business will include presentations from a range of industry leaders including Emmett Williams, Chief Executive of Myzone - Asia Pacific; Liam Robertson, Managing Director of Creative Fitness Marketing; functional ageing specialist Ken Baldwin; Nadine Kemp, Regional Executive Manager for YMCA Victoria; Scott Hunt, Chief Executive at Fit Your Ability; Barrie Elvish and Billie Cox of AUSactive and sales and marketing experts Steve Jensen and Richard Toutounji

In addition, exercise scientist, entrepreneur, author and podcaster Dr Craig Harper will deliver a keynote address on High Performance in Business (and Life).

Designed to offer industry professionals an innovative platform for growth and development, the Ignite Fitness Business, eventorganiser, Mel Tempest, owner of the Ballarat Body & Soul Genesis 24/7 gym and the creator of the Gym Owners Fitness Business Podcast, explains one of the key themes to be explored and that gym owners and managers need to be aware of as the industry moves forward.

Tempest advises “consumer fitness experiences are now built around wearable data and social interaction club owners need to marry them up to increase retention.

“Group workouts are back with a bang, but consumers are looking for different club owners must offer simplified non-complex workouts to capture their whole community; this also needs to include well-being circuits.

“Group fitness rooms are full of resources that can be used to create more foot traffic. Sustainability initiatives are essential, and the ‘zoomer generation’ will take note of what clubs are doing.”

She adds “business events like Ignite prioritise personalised experiences and fostering community.

“These events resonate deeper with attendees than larger, impersonal, commercialised events with high ticket prices.

Ignite Fitness Business is being held on 14th September at the Crown Plaza Melbourne.
