Fitness on Request rebrands as Wellbeats
Leading virtual fitness technology provider Fitness On Request has announced a new brand name, Wellbeats™, to support its bigger mission as a company to reach people in meaningful ways along their heath and wellness journey.
Wellbeats, formerly Fitness On Request, was founded in 2008 by two health club owners who discovered a need for more flexible and convenient group fitness solutions for their members. What began as a simple video playback device has since evolved over the years to become a sophisticated automated platform, integrated with advanced management software and data reporting functionalities.
Company Vice President Jason Campana explained “every year we learned more from our customers and the new industries that we were serving.
“We’ve spent the last six (years) refining our solutions to meet diverse needs in the best way.”
In 2011, Wellbeats brought on Fitness Hall of Fame member Linda Shelton to create its proprietary fitness programming. Shelton brought a career trifecta to the team — media, education and visionary programming. She infuses her decades of experience and industry-renowned philosophies into every aspect of Wellbeats’ programming.
One philosophy in particular had heavy influence on the Fitness On Request brand change. Shelton explains “at Wellbeats, we believe that wellness, not just fitness, is the underlying lifestyle driver to any successful program.
“Wellness is an intrinsic goal and infused with great programming, we know that individuals will better meet and stick with their goals, enhance their results, eradicate lifestyle conditions, and in general, lead to a happier, more satisfied life.”
In March 2014, Wellbeats announced three new partnerships with EXOS™, Silver&Fit® and MOVE ME™! to produce each program’s content and deliver it on Wellbeats’ virtual platform.
Campana adds “we recognise that wellness needs to look different for different individuals.
“Our goal at Wellbeats is to provide intelligent, intentional programming that meets individual wellness needs for the widest possible audience, while making it convenient and cost-effective for facilities to deliver it.”
