FitnessNZ Regional Forum
FitnessNZ has recently completed a two-week roadshow visiting 12 New Zealand cities. The roadshow included getting feedback from club manger and owners on issues such as the draft childcare regulations, and the issue of music licensing while also inviting personal trainers from the country to give input into how the new Personal Trainers Council of New Zealand should be structured and what activities it should be involved in.
As FitnessNZ Chief Executive Richard Beddie explains, "we find these events invaluable to getting feedback from the industry, and do them most years. While we run an annual conference in Auckland, and hold our business summits in three cities, these regional meetings are vital in ensuring those outside of the main centre have an opportunity to have input into national topics, and also get together to discuss common strategies on industry issues. This year adding in a PT stream has enabled us to get excellent feedback on the new PT Council initiative".
