Fitness Club managers average annual salaries approach $70,000
Fitness centre/club managers earn an average annual salary of $63,000 to $68,000, more than any profession in the fitness industry according to just released data from the latest Fitness Industry Survey.
The Survey found that 21% of managers with sole responsibility for clubs/facilities earn between $56,000 to $70,000 a year, followed by 19% that are getting $41,000 to $51,000 a year. Peak rates of $71,000 to $85,000 per year were earned tby 18% of respondents with an elite 11% of the centre/fitness managers earning over $100,000 per annum.
Meanwhile for hourly rates, 67% of the club / fitness manager respondents earned around $21 to $40 per hour followed by 13% who earned about below $20 per hour. Only 8% of the respondents earned $60 to $80 per hour and only 1% earned $81 and above.
Conducted by Ezypay since 2008, the 2014 Fitness Industry Survey is based on responses from over 11,300 fitness professionals and club members from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Commenting on the Survey’s recently released 2014 Staff Salary infographic, Ezypay Director of Sales, Marketing and Relationships Celeste Kirby-Brown explains that the Survey “unveils secrets and coveted data from the insides of the fitness industry.
“Among the most talked topic which is also one of the most important aspects of any job is the salary of fitness professionals.
“This year, we look into how much fitness professionals are paid as we reveal some of the interesting salary facts garnered by this year’s survey.”
For senior fitness trainers, they are getting an average of $48,000 to $53,000 per year.
41% of them are reported getting $41,000 to $55,000 per year; followed by 29% who got around $25,000 to $40,000 per annum and 19% that got a slightly higher salary of $56,000 to $70,000. The high paid senior fitness trainers are elusive, as only 6% got paid about $71,000 to $85,000, 3% about $86,000 to $100,000 and 2% got paid $100,000 and above.
For group fitness instructor salary rates, yoga instructors have a fruitful income this year as they earned an average of $49 per class or per hour. For class rates, 52% of the yoga instructors get between $40-$59 per class, followed by 30% who got $60 and above. 15% of them got $20-$39 per class and 3% got below $20 for each class.
Simultaneously for hourly rates, 50% of the yoga instructor respondents get around $40 to $59 per hour, followed by 25% who got $60 and above. 18% are paid $20 to $39 per hour and only 7% are paid below $20.
