Fernwood Fitness announces partnership with RizeUp Australia
Supporting victims of domestic and family violence with things needed to make a fresh start, Fernwood Fitness has today announced an official and ongoing partnership with RizeUp Australia. The RizeUp mission is to drive awareness of domestic and family violence within society by generating life-changing, practical support for the families affected, giving them the help to press the restart button on a life free from violence.
When a family leaves a refuge, RizeUp furnishes their new home with everything they need so they can make a fresh start, ensuring women and their children do not return to dangerous situations due to economic necessity.
Commenting on the group’s involvement, Diana Williams, founder and Managing Director of Fernwood Fitness, stated “it was a wonderful feeling being involved in a home set up,” stated Diana Williams, Founder and Managing Director of Fernwood Fitness.
“I didn’t realise how emotional it would make me feel until I came in and started seeing all the beautiful things that we put around the home, making it feel so warm and loving for the family to come in and enjoy all of these things selected specifically with their interests in mind.”
This collaboration is intrinsically linked to Fernwood’s ethos to empower women to shine, and the opportunity to provide new beginnings for women and children fleeing domestic and family violence is a mission the Fernwood Fitness network is honoured to stand behind.
RizeUp Australia Chief Executive, Nicolle Edwards added "I am delighted to unveil our national long-term partnership with Fernwood Fitness, a collaboration that will enable us to extend our support to thousands more women and their children across Australia, who are seeking to start new lives free from domestic and family violence.
“This partnership marks a significant step towards raising awareness and supporting women and their children fleeing domestic and family violence by providing the practical support they need to create a new home. Together, we will provide the resources, strength, and encouragement necessary for these brave individuals ready for a fresh start. With Fernwood Fitness by our side, we are poised to make a lasting difference and foster the transformation of countless lives. Let us rise up together and help create a society where every woman and child can have a new beginning."
To support the launch of their partnership with RizeUp Australia, Fernwood has joined forces with RizeUp in two home set ups to date, and all Fernwood clubs have committed to donating a portion of their onboarding fees in the month of July. This initiative will go towards raising the much-needed funds that will make a difference to the lives of victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
Additionally, many Fernwood clubs around the country are holding fundraising events to further drive monetary and physical goods donations. Those wishing to participate can check with local clubs for more details.
Fernwood recognises that as a community, it is up to us to drive awareness of domestic and family violence and to respectfully challenge the behaviours and attitudes that allow this violence to occur. Every donation made helps make a difference to the lives of those impacted by providing a fresh new beginning for families in need.
