Entries open for 2011 New Zealand Fitness industry awards

Following its successful recent series of Business Grow events, staged in nine cities over recent weeks, Fitness New Zealand has launched its 2011 New Zealand Fitness Awards.

Designed to recognise those making a contribution to the health and wellness of New Zealanders through exercise and fitness, the fitness industry awards are an annual event.

Started in 2005 and now managed by Fitness New Zealand, the awards were last presented on Saturday 27th November 2010 at the Hyatt Ballroom, Auckland.

The 2011 Awards will be held on Saturday 26th November 2011.

The Award categories include:

Facilities
• Small Club (under 500 members)
• Medium Club (501-1,500 members)
• Large Club (1,500+ members)
• Studio (under 100 members and under 200 metre2)
• Innovation
• Sight and Sound

Individuals
• Gym Instructor
• Group Exercise - Pre-choroegraphed
• Group Exercise - Freestyle
• Up and Coming Personal Trainer
• Personal Trainer
• Outstanding club support award
• Small Group Trainer Individuals

Education and Community
• Lecturer of the year
• Fitness Mentor
• Community Organisations
• Schools
• Corporate Initiative

Special Awards
• Skills Active award
• FitnessNZ Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
• REPs Award
• People's Choice award
