EGYM launches in Australia

Fitness technology leader EGYM has today launched in Australia, unveiling its training experience at a customer event in Sydney alongside distribution partner NovoFit.

In a social media post anticipating the launch, EGYM Chief Operating Officer, Christoph Bischoff wrote "Australia is a perfect market for the EGYM solutions.

"Firstly, sport, fitness and health are highly embedded in the Australian society.

"Secondly, Australians are very tech affine in asking for intelligent, simple solutions in navigating them in their quest for a better fitness and wellbeing."

Bischoff added "EGYM is thrilled to bring our solutions to Australia and helping the Australian operators, trainers and members to realise their potential in working out with much more guidance, insights and effect."

As part of its global expansion, which includes integration with leading equipment suppliers, EGYM's arrival in the Australian market closely coincides with the release of EGYM Genius its new AI-based software innovation.

EGYM Genius creates fully automated personalised training plans that are precisely tailored to the respective club and all of its equipment - including free weights - enabling trainers and members to benefit from the insights from seven billion EGYM data points.

The new driver of the entire EGYM ecosystem, EGYM Genius connects its components: EGYM Smart Strength (including the Fitness Hub and connected Smart cardio), training plans, workouts of all kinds (including classes and training outside the gym recorded with apps and wearables) as well as motivational and community tools such as Gameday and the Branded Member App.

EGYM Genius uses data from training sessions carried out on EGYM and partner devices - including 340 million assessment data points - and generates precise recommendations for individualized training plans, optimally tailored to your personal experience level or training goal.

EGYM Genius also creates optimal training plans for selectorised equipment, cable pulls and free weights, thus bridging the gap between digital and analogue.

EGYM Genius for trainers
After onboarding the member at the Fitness Hub and having them perform strength tests on EGYM Smart Strength, the trainer immediately sees the training plan suggestion, created by EGYM Genius, in the trainer app. If necessary, the trainer can make any final adjustments and forward the training plan directly to the member’s app.

EGYM acquires Hussle
In March this year EGYM acquired Hussle, a leading player in the UK corporate fitness market.

At the time, the company advised that "by joining forces with Hussle, EGYM further expands its leading position in the booming market in Europe with its corporate fitness network, EGYM Wellpass."
