Dubai Opera welcomes record-breaking 250,000 attendees through 2023/24 season
Dubai Opera has concluded a record-breaking 2023/24 season, with more than 250,000 guests attending performances.
Surpassed all previous years since its opening in 2016, the venue hosted more than 100 productions and 200 performances including opera, ballet, symphonic, musicals and concerts.
Highlights included premieres for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) such as The Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala, MusicAeterna Orchestra and Rome Opera Ballet.
‘The Phantom of the Opera’ returned to the UAE, but this time with an Arab lead performing the Phantom role. The historic event drew over 30,000 attendees. Additionally, the musical ‘Matilda’ made its UAE debut.
Commenting on the achievement, Paolo Petrocelli, Head of Dubai Opera, advised “the past season has been a testament to Dubai Opera’s role as a ‘House of Cultures,’ and we are extremely proud to have set a new attendance record.
“This achievement demonstrates the growing appreciation and support for the arts in Dubai. We look forward to building on this success and providing even more extraordinary experiences for our patrons.”
The full line-up for the venue's 2024/2025 season will be revealed during a press conference in September.
