Countdown to Aquatics and Recreation Victoria Regional Conference

Aquatics and Recreation Victoria’s commitment to members in regional as well as metropolitan areas is set to see the staging of its third Regional Conference in Ballarat on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th May.

Bringing together a diverse and knowledgeable group of industry leaders and decision makers from local government, aquatic and recreation facilities, product suppliers, service providers, consultancies, institutes of learning and Government departments, the Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) Regional Conference creates a forum to hear the issues, understand the challenges, explore the trends and contribute to the solutions through a regional lens.

Victoria has 279 publicly owned pools and hundreds more recreation facilities and, while pools and recreational facilities enjoy a profoundly successful connection with the community, the sector faces many challenges.

Dr Bridie O'Donnell, Head for Women in Sport and Recreation joins the list of more than 20 presenters as one of the programs two keynote speakers along with the growing list of presentation topics attached.

The ARV Regional Conference encourages the attendance of: facility managers, aquatic coordinators, operations coordinators, providers of products and professional services, local government managers and coordinators in sport, leisure, recreation and parks, State Government professionals, committees of management and other interested stakeholders

The Conference also incorporates a trade exhibition for industry suppliers and providers to showcase products and services.

Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre is set among three hectares of beautifully manicured gardens, complete with its own ornamental lake. Conveniently located just 75 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, Mercure Ballarat is situated opposite the multi-award winning Sovereign Hill, with close proximity to the historic centre of Ballarat.
