Council takes on management of Oberon Fitness and Leisure Centre
Oberon Council in the Central West region of NSW has advised that it has taken over the management of the Oberon Fitness and Leisure Centre (Gym and Pool).
In a statement, the Council advised “we are committed to continue to offer all the great programs, classes, direct debit and short-term memberships with no lock in contracts as per previous membership arrangements … (and) our team is ready to assist you with the transition."
The Council has also appointed David Sellers as Facility Manager at the Centre - Sellars joining from running the Oberon Gym for the Y.
Welcoming his new role, Sellars, who has been involved in health, wellness and community sport in Oberon for 25 years, stated “I am very grateful, to now be in a position to help serve the community and hopefully add some value in an area that has given my own life a lot of meaning”.
The Council noted “Dave has worked across a number of facilities having been involved in the fitness industry for 13 years and believes our gym and pool facilities are elite, packed full of amazing staff, equipment and programs.”
To ease the transition for members, the Council is urging members to call into the Fitness Centre and sign a new membership form as soon as possible to continue their current usage.
It also notes that “as the warmer weather approaches, we are readying the pool for the upcoming season. There will be a range of activities and fitness programs for all to enjoy as well as learn to swim.”
