Cloud 9 Women’s Fitness founder Kerry Jeffs looks to expand by franchising her female-friendly fitness space
With program and sessions designed for women’s unique body composition, physiology and psychology, Brisbane-based Kerry Jeffs is looking to expand her Cloud 9 Women’s Fitness studio concept nationwide.
Working as a personal trainer prior to founding Cloud 9, Jeffs witnessed an all-too-common trend among her female clients - feeling uncomfortable in the gym, they were being held back from making the progress they wanted.
Jeffs recalls “they felt self-conscious, judged and, worst of all, invisible. Inevitably, these capable and determined women would lose motivation, simply because of the environment and culture of big gyms.”
Looking to offer a transformed experience, in 2015, Jeffs decided to create a space where women could work out and focus on themselves without fear of judgment or feeling exposed.
Launching Cloud 9 Women’s Fitness, she created a personalised boutique experience for women in an encouraging, welcoming and private space.
Pleased with the offering, Jeffs notes “we’re proud to offer cost-effective small group fitness sessions designed specifically for women.
“From the moment you arrive, until you walk out the door, you’re validated, supported, and, most of all, seen.”
The subsequent evolution of Cloud 9 has seen Jeffs help other women set up their very own studio. Using the Cloud 9 Women’s Fitness brand, with systems proven to be profitable, new studio owners can avoid the common pitfalls which can occur in the first few years of business and be part of a reputable brand.
Jeffs explains “setting up a Cloud 9 studio is much lower cost than the larger gyms and requires a much smaller lease.
“It’s a model is particularly well-suited for personal trainers, exercise physiologists and yoga/Pilates instructors who are committed to helping women achieve their fitness goals in a supportive and empowering environment.
“By joining the Cloud 9 family, fitness professionals can offer their clients a unique, women-centred experience that prioritises comfort and personal growth.”
