Change of ownership for Anytime Fitness New Zealand

Anytime Fitness has announced a change in ownership of its New Zealand franchise.

Previously owned by Anytime Fitness Australia master franchisors Justin McDonell and Jacinta McDonell-Jimenez, the master franchise rights for Anytime Fitness New Zealand have been purchased by Kiwi local Richard Ball.

Ball (pictured) will be heading the franchise of Anytime Fitness in New Zealand with a management support team located in Hamilton.

He explains "having been a franchisee, becoming the master franchisor is a great step forward for me. I am excited and looking forward to growing the Anytime Fitness brand in New Zealand."

Brother and sister team Justin McDonell and Jacinta McDonellâJimenez congratulated Richard and his team, with Justin explaining "it's a great step forward to growing the Anytime Fitness brand in New Zealand. Richard and his team will be a great addition to the Anytime Fitness worldwide brand."

Jacinta and Justin purchased the master rights for Anytime Fitness in Australia and New Zealand in 2008 and have grown the brand to 70 clubs open in Australia and five clubs in New Zealand.

Justin McDonell added "as the number of clubs has increased, so has the support team. Now is a critical time for us to focus on developing the Australian market, while giving the New Zealand market the opportunity to grow quicker with a strong local team," Justin added.
