CENTAMAN Takes Security Outside
CENTAMAN Systems have launched a new range of turnstiles and security gates designed specifically for outdoor use.
The new Centurion range, which includes tripod turnstiles, entry gates and swing gates, have also been designed to deal with high humidity sites.
At the company's new product launch, CENTAMAN Systems Head of Entrance Control, Michael Bystram, stated, "traditionally turnstiles are designed for indoor use and as such when they are used outdoors or in high humidity areas problems can occur. The Centurion range of turnstiles from CENTAMAN is designed to be used externally without any protective covers or in areas with up to 80% humidity."
Key features of the range include stainless steel enclosures to prevent rusting, sealed pedestals to stop water getting in, inductive sensors and specially treated circuit boards to protect against condensation or high humidity, low voltage operation and thermostatically controlled heaters to give continued reliable operation in the most hostile environments.
Bystram adds that "I have seen lots of indoor turnstiles being used in outdoors or applications such as aquatics centres and they age at an incredible rate as they are not designed for the environment. This can lead to really high running costs. Our Centurion range of turnstiles are designed to work in these type of environments and to give years of reliable, trouble free operation."
