Art Gallery of NSW selects Centaman entry management system

The Art Gallery of New South Wales has selected Centaman for its event and online ticketing and admissions management.

With over 1.3 million visitors each year the central Sydney art gallery is one of Sydney's most visited attractions.

From late 2008 visitors will be able to purchase their tickets to the gallery or any of the many exhibitions in advance online, printing confirmations at home and presenting them to gallery staff when they arrive for easy entry. By having an integrated system for both on-site and online ticketing the gallery will be able to access real-time information on admissions, exhibition ticket availability, and revenue including online sales at the click of a mouse.

The Centaman solution includes specialist electronic point of sale and ticketing equipment designed to integrate with the custom ground floor entrance facilities at the Gallery. The system will provide fast processing for general admission ticketing including integrated EFTPOS facilities and also allow visitors to buy their tickets in advance online via the Art Gallery website which will utilise the Centaman Web Ticketing framework for fast, secure online transactions. Visitors with prepaid tickets purchased online will then be able to gain direct access to the gallery or exhibition spaces without queuing at the counter using discreet custom designed scanners located on-site.
