TEG backs Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games registration drive

Ticketing, live entertainment and data analytics company TEG is urging Australians to get behind the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games by signing up for the ticket registration process.

With TEG subsidiary Ticketek the official ticket agent providing ticketing technology and marketing services for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, TEG Chief Executive Geoff Jones stated “this is the biggest multi-sport event we will see on Australian soil in the next decade.

“The one-year countdown ... marks the official launch of the ticketing program and we can feel the excitement building.

“Ticketek has vast experience in major events and will play a key role in making the Games a great success.”

In a mammoth undertaking of technology and logistics, Ticketek will ticket more than 270 separate sessions with up to 1.5 million spectators expected to attend.

The venues are not limited to the Gold Coast with preliminary basketball matches being held in Townsville and Cairns, while Brisbane will host the shooting and track cycling events.

Jones explained that the 2018 Commonwealth Games ticketing program launch is the result of two years’ of planning, adding “the Commonwealth Games ticketing program brings together Ticketek’s expertise in technology, marketing, e-commerce and major events.

“We are delighted to be a partner with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and we look forward to helping deliver an historic event.”

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games are billed as the largest sporting event Australia will see this decade and the biggest sporting spectacular the Gold Coast has ever seen.

From 4th April next year, over 6,600 athletes and team officials from 70 nations and territories will converge on the Gold Coast for an 11 day sporting and cultural event.

Those wanting to attend Games events must register in order to officially request tickets from midday (AEST) on 24th April.
