Bursary and Scholarship award winners announced at Venue Management School graduation
The Graduation Dinner concluding the Venue Management Association’s 2024 Venue Management School and Leadership Institute program has announced the recipients of the initiative’s Momentus Technologies Year 1 Bursary and ASM Global Year 2 Scholarship.
Held this evening at the end of this year’s Venue Management School (VMS) and Leadership Institute (LI), the 2024 winners are:
Momentus Technologies Year 1 Bursary
Abbie Potter, Venue Operations Manager, Melbourne Fringe
This Bursary will cover Potter’s enrolment into VMS Year 2 and is awarded to the highest performing Year 1 student.
Having only recently joined the VMA to take part in the VMA Quayclean Mentor Program, Potter was encouraged to apply for a scholarship by her mentor, Heather Clarke. In August, she was awarded the Event Health Management Innovation Scholarship, and now she has also received the Year 1 bursary.
ASM Global Year 2 Scholarship
Daniel McPherson, Operations Leader - AAMI Park, Melbourne & Olympic Parks
This scholarship is awarded to the highest performing Year 2 student and affords McPherson the invaluable opportunity to attend the IAVM’s Graduate Institute program in the USA.
McPherson was also honoured to receive last year’s Momentus Technologies Year 1 Bursary, recognising his hard work and dedication in his first year at VMS.
At the Graduation Dinner for those who successfully completed the VMS and LI programs, VMA President Phil King AVM concluded by thanking all involved in making the week such a success, stating “this is a truly special event for everyone who has been part of it, and I’m looking forward to what 2025 will bring for our graduates and the VMA community.”
The VMS and LI programs will return in 2025.
