Venue Management Association launches new Young Professional membership category

The Venue Management Association [Asia and Pacific] (VMA) is to introduce new membership categories to support the growing venue management industry through the various stages of a professional’s career.

The new Young Professional membership category is for venue industry employees under the age of 30.

With an affordable price point of just $99 per year, the Young Professional membership allows those within the early stages of their career to join and connect with the vast network of other industry professionals and access the great opportunities and benefits of VMA membership.

The new Fellow membership category recognises members that have had a long and continuous membership with the VMA. M

embers that have maintained 15 years or more of continuous membership at the Active or Allied level will enjoy a reduced annual subscription fee of $250.

In addition to the new categories, the VMA is reducing the cost of its student membership category to just $25 per year.

Student members are individuals who are currently studying a venue or associated industry course at a recognised education institution, but are not actively working full-time within the industry.

The VMA is also introducing new Group Membership package options open to both venues and allied organisations. The package provides significant savings, and additional benefits through signing up multiple employees to the program based on either a Group 5 (five employees), Group 10 (10 employees), or Group 15 (15 employees) package.

The VMA also advise that “Active and Allied membership will remain as our cornerstone offerings and are unchanged.”

The VMA expects that the implementation of these new initiatives will help it achieve growth in membership numbers leading to a stronger industry association, citing the following benefits:

For members:
• Larger VMA network for members to engage and interact with
• More opportunities for members to learn and develop professionally

For  employers:
• Significant cost savings and administrative efficiencies
• Flexibility to manage and change which employees are included (new, resigning and transferred)

For the VMA:
• Stronger financial position for the VMA
• Ability to deliver additional services and programs to members and the industry
• Ability to further invest in our existing programs including Congress and School.

For the Industry:
• A larger network of industry professionals creating a stronger voice for the industry
