BlueFit appoints AFL executive Josh Mahoney as Chief Operating Officer
Community aquatic and recreation facility management company BlueFit has announced the appointment of Josh Mahoney as its new Chief Operating Officer, further strengthening its executive team as it continues to expand across Australia.
Mahoney joins BlueFit after more than two decades in professional sport, most recently holding senior executive roles at the AFL as General Manager - Football Performance. Widely respected as a leader with a proven track record in high-performance environments, Mahoney brings extensive experience in governance, operations, continuous improvement and strategy to the growing leisure provider.
Announcing the appointment, BlueFit Chief Executive, Todd McHardy stated "we are pleased to welcome Josh to the BlueFit team. His leadership in professional sport and the AFL system is second to none, and his ability to connect culture, performance, and community outcomes will be invaluable as we continue to grow and establish new partnerships nationwide. The appointment comes at a time of sustained growth for BlueFit, which now manages more than 60 aquatic, recreation, and leisure facilities nationally, partnering with local governments and organisations to deliver accessible, high-quality services to communities.
McHardy went on to say “Josh’s appointment is another important step as we expand our national footprint and scalable systems as we approach future partnership opportunities nationwide. His operational leadership and people-first approach will help ensure that BlueFit continues to deliver value for councils, members and the local communities we serve.”
