Blacktown's record Aqua Learn to Swim enrolments

Blacktown City Council’s Aqua Learn to Swim program has made a record splash at Blacktown Key Venues’ aquatic and recreation centres through the early months of 2016.

The new term has seen a record number of students enrolled in the program, with Blacktown Aquatic Centre (located in Boyd Street, Blacktown) recently reaching 2,000 students. This is the most ever recorded in the Learn to Swim program at the Centre.

One of Council’s other venues, Emerton Leisure Centre also reached a new milestone this term with 1,000 students now enrolled in the program.

Since launching in October 2015, Aqua Learn to Swim has continued to prove highly successful, running at five aquatic and recreation centres in Blacktown City.

7,448 students are currently enrolled in the Learn to Swim program, with 97 qualified instructors employed to offer students a safe, rewarding, fun and educational experience.

Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali said Aqua Learn to Swim is proving to be another success story for Council and will no doubt continue to build credibility within the industry, commenting "it’s through achievements like these record numbers that show the level of commitment that each Centre has to providing a quality Learn to Swim program for children.

Aqua Learn to Swim is a diverse program that caters to the needs of varying ages and experience.

Aside from the Term Program which includes classes for Infant, Preschool and School Aged children, Aqua Learn to Swim also offers programs specifically designed for people with disabilities, teenagers and adults.
