Qatar signs 2015 World Handball hosting agreement

The Qatar 2015 Men's World Cup Handball Organising Committee has signed the agreement for hosting the XXIV men's handball World Championship in Doha in 2015.
The agreement was signed by the Organising Committee Chairman HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al Thani and President of the International Handball Federation Dr Hassan Mustafa.
Welcoming the agreement, Organising Committee Chairman HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al Thani stated "we are proud to be holding the next championship and our goal is to organise one of the best competitions ever."
Qatar 2015 is expected to be the most important event in the history of this sport, with Sheikh Joaan adding "as one of the booming countries of the world, we are looking forward to playing a leading role in bringing people of the world under the umbrella of the sport."
Talking in detail about what the hosting of the tournament in Doha would mean for the sport, Sheikh Joaan said that as the organising country, Qatar aims to make available to the players comfortable sports complexes.
He added that hosting of the entire tournament in a single city "will promote the handball community" and the weather of Doha in January will add to its appeal.
