Blacktown Tennis Centre to serve up state-of-the-art tennis facilities
The next generation of up and coming tennis stars will soon have the opportunity to utilise state-of-the-art facilities, with construction of the 16-court Blacktown Tennis Centre well underway at Stanhope Gardens.
Along with the new tennis courts which include an exhibition court, Blacktown Tennis Centre will include spectator seating for 288 people, change room facilities, administration office space and meeting facilities, social area / club house, pro shop and additional car parking.
As part of the construction an additional two ball courts will also be added to the facility, with the capacity to accommodate sports including basketball, netball, squash and badminton.
Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali is very excited to see the development progressing well, with the project now more than half way complete, stating “Blacktown Tennis Centre will be a valuable sporting facility not only for the people of Blacktown but also greater Western Sydney.
“The superb, purpose-built venue will have the capacity to facilitate future tennis tournaments, both local and regional.”
The new tennis facility will adjoin the existing Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope, adding to the already successful sporting and recreation venue that welcomes over 1 million visitors each year.
Mayor Bali added “we’re committed to supporting the up and coming talent of Western Sydney and to have a facility of this calibre in Blacktown is a real asset to the community.”
Construction on Blacktown Tennis Centre commenced in January 2015 and is expected to be complete by Easter 2016.
