Belgravia Leisure looks to NSW expansion with promotion of James Ellender to General Manager role

Following a successful three years supporting unprecedented growth in NSW, Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox has announced the promotion of current NSW State Manager, James Ellender to the role of General Manager of Marketing and Strategy.

Since 2015, Ellender (pictured) has grown the team and operations throughout NSW, leading the expansion of operations in the City of Sydney, re-winning the three site Liverpool contract, and leading the establishment of two green field sites.

Announcing the new appointment, Cox stated “James has made a significant contribution to the growth, stability and reputation of Belgravia Leisure and we are all thankful of his contribution in both a challenging and rewarding period for our team.”

With Belgravia Leisure, one part of the growing Australian owned Belgravia Group, now operating over 165 aquatic, golf, recreation, tourism and wellness facilities across Australia and New Zealand, Ellender’s new role is seen as pivotal in driving customer experience, marketing and communication strategies across Belgravia Leisure’s nearly 30 million annual visits.

Cox added “James has aspired to return to a marketing role since joining the team in operations and it’s a great credit to him that he has been recognised for his strategic focus, leadership and commitment to putting the customer at the centre of everything we do.

“Prior to his time with the group, James held a range of executive roles in Marketing both in our industry, with not for profits and State government and it’s great to have James join the Executive team.”

Belgravia Leisure have also recently appointed Victoria Goodwin-Barlow to the role of Regional Manager, City of Sydney, joinings David Burns, Scott Hawkins and Nicole Dunn on the NSW Leadership Team.

The business has also engaged executive recruitment agency Advance Careers to undertake further NSW state leadership recruitment is underway.
