Beach developments planned for Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island

Abu Dhabi based developer Miral has announced the construction of two beaches on the waterfront at the Emirate’s Yas Island.

Intended to further enhance the lifestyle and leisure offerings of Yas Island - which currently is home to the Etihad Arena, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and CLYMB Abu Dhabi along with Yas Marina Circuit and a number of leading hotel brands - the two beaches at Yas Bay Waterfront will each span a length of 280 metres, adding a total of 560 metres of beachfront to Yas Island.

West Beach: Located on the west side of the pier, West Beach on Yas Bay will be home to beachside play areas for children, dining outlets, food trucks, pedestrian walkways, as well as rest and recreation facilities.

East Beach: Across the award-winning Etihad area, on the east side of the pier, East Beach will be tailored more towards activity with outdoor spaces and sports zones for beach football and volleyball.

Each of the beach areas will feature open seating areas and sunset loungers.

Commenting on the developments, Miral Chief Portfolio Officer, Jonathan Brown stated “these upcoming experiences are an extension of our vision to enrich the diverse and unique experiences available to visitors on Yas Island, positioning it as a top global destination for leisure and entertainment while further contributing to Abu Dhabi’s wider tourism growth.”

Yas Bay Waterfront is already home to over 20 restaurants and cafes, world-class nightlife concepts, a floating beach club, award-winning Etihad Arena, luxury hotels and an expansive promenade.
