Ballers Clubhouse expands its competitive socialising offerings with Adelaide opening
Australia's immersive adult entertainment hub, Ballers Clubhouse (of the Superverse Group), is set to open its doors in Adelaide this July - taking over the historic Ruthven Mansion at 21 Pulteney Street in Adelaide’s CBD, spanning over 700 square metres and revitalising the heritage-listed building.
Ballers Clubhouse is a premier sports bar and immersive gaming venue that combines state-of-the-art technology with a vibrant social atmosphere. Founded by Josh Lefers and Stephen Wools, Ballers Clubhouse offers a multi-game concept, premium food and drinks, and an engaging environment that encourages repeat visitation. With successful venues in Melbourne, the brand is expanding rapidly, setting new standards in the competitive socialising space.
With a variety of games including shuffleboard, ping pong, and interactive darts, customers can enjoy a different experience every time they visit.
The integration of advanced technology developed by the Superverse Group's subsidiary, Good Time Tech, ensures that each game is not only engaging but also enhanced beyond traditional automated scoring. For example, the world's first 'footy darts game' combines physical dart throwing with a simulated footy field display, offering an innovative and interactive experience, tying in with live footy prize giveaways.
Josh Lefers, co-founder of Ballers Clubhouse shares “our mission has always been to redefine socialising by combining immersive tech gaming with a vibrant nightlife atmosphere. Our Adelaide venue is designed to keep guests engaged for hours through the ultimate multi-sensory experience of posh food, delectable cocktails, immersive games and driving music. It’s like a reverse escape room - because you just don’t want to leave.”
The venue’s design is both immersive and Instagram-worthy to maximise customer time and experience in the venue. With carefully curated aesthetics designed by co-founders, 'Josh & Steve', every corner of Ballers Clubhouse offers a picture-perfect moment, contributing to an average stay of four and a half hours per guest.
Guests can expect to find things like a birdcage ball pit with karaoke, a giant ping pong tree, a mirrorball loveseat and more. This extended stay is complemented by a 'posh nosh' kitchen serving elevated bar dining directly to the guests’ tables or booths, allowing them to stay 'in the game' without interruption. Additionally, the bar boasts 36 beer taps and a selection of exceptional cocktails, further enhancing the overall experience.
Stephen Wools, co-founder of Ballers Clubhouse, highlights the growing trend of competitive socialising, particularly in the UK, where 71% of consumers have engaged in such activities in the past year, with an impressive 93% participation rate among Gen Z (WorldXo. org).
Woods notes “Australia is about five years behind the UK in this trend, we’re on the brink of a dramatic shift in the market that will change the way we socialise. Our venues are perfectly poised to lead this evolution.”
Ballers Clubhouse’s appeal extends beyond casual social gatherings, making it a popular choice for SME's and corporate events, team-building activities, and special occasions such as mates dates, hens and bucks parties, and date nights. The venue’s ability to offer a fun yet productive environment makes it a valuable addition to corporate event calendars, promoting social responsibility and team cohesion.
With the immense success of their Melbourne venues, Josh & Steve and their co-founders Simon Jones (ex-Funlab co-founder) and Chris Roberton are pioneering the adult competitive socialising space in Australia. The Adelaide opening is the first of four new venues planned for this year, marking a rapid expansion driven by their innovative approach and market leadership.
