Aquatopia has most successful year yet
Aquatopia waterpark, located inside Fairfield City Council’s Prairiewood Leisure Centre, has already welcomed a record 75,000 people during its third season - which ends on 28th April 2019. This represents a 23% rise in attendance from the 2017/18 swimming season.
Visitors this season have experienced the fun of Sydney’s tallest high-speed waterslide tower and the Rocket Drop Slide - which drops brave riders via a trap door to a fast loop through a transparent tube.
Commenting on the attendance rise, Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone stated "we want Aquatopia to be fun for the whole family, and these new slides definitely offer a fun time for the older kids, adults and thrill seekers in the family.
“The Racing Slides add a competitive element to the fun and are perfect for friends and family who like to challenge each other.
“The free-fall slide and Rocket Drop are definitely not for the faint of heart."
The slides from Polin Waterparks were installed by Polin’s Australian representative Swimplex Aquatics.
They join Aquatopia's three giant slides, an adventure aqua tower with 79 unique and fun elements, Wave Rider surf ride, the Fishpipe and toddler play area.
Mayor Carbone said plans are in motion for more attractions to be added to the facility, adding "we have further investment planned, with design underway for a wave pool and we are investigating non-aquatic attractions to make Aquatopia the epicentre of family fun all-year round.
"Icetopia, where we convert the water park into a winter wonderland ice skating rink, will also return this July school holidays.
"It's fantastic that so many residents and visitors have experienced the fun of the park."
