Aquatic engineering expert Murray Booth joins team at Atlantis Liquid Dynamics
Murray Booth, an expert in water play, public recreation and related engineering design has joined the team at public aquatic experts Atlantis Liquid Dynamics.
Leaving Swimplex Aquatics after 11 years, Booth joins the team in the business created by Marcel Veraart, the founder and Director of Playscape Creations/PARX.
Atlantis Liquid Dynamics has been born from the desire to reintroduce water elements to the public realm in endlessly innovative ways, Atlantis Liquid Dynamics designs and manufactures a suite of aquatic elements available for immediate specification and installation - from water plazas and indoor water features to splashparks and recreational facilities. All Atlantis Liquid Dynamics products are made in Australia.
With a background in mechanical trades, fabrication and aquatic construction, Booth led the successful rollout of major splashpads, waterparks and commercial slide projects for councils, developers and tourism destinations across Australia.
Known for his extensive hands-on experience in delivering complex aquatic infrastructure Booth explains his move to Atlantis Liquid Dynamics, advising “it’s hard not to be energised by what Marcel and the team are building. After nearly 30 years in the industry, he still shows up with real passion and a drive to keep pushing boundaries.
“That kind of energy and the team it attracts is a rare find. I’m excited to be joining at a time where there’s real momentum. It kind of feels like I’m stepping in just after all the hard work’s been done, ready to help carry it forward.”
Commenting on his experience, Booth notes “I’ve been in and around industries like fabrication, coatings and manufacturing for most of my career, so stepping into the aquatic sector felt like a natural progression.
“I’d known the space for a long time, but what surprised me was just how much I enjoy it.
“We work in an industry that creates excitement, joy and connection, and that’s not something every job can offer. 12 years in, I can honestly say that’s what’s kept me passionate all these years.”
Looking forward, he explains “I want kids to be excited about the new waterpark, splash pad or play structure their mates at school are talking about. I want them to feel that same buzz we used to get driving past Wet’n’Wild or Dreamworld when something new was being built.
“The energy you get from 50 excited kids busting to run up to a waterslide or onto a splash pad on opening day… it’s just amazing!”
