Ampd Academy partners with Men of Business

Ampd Academy - a registered training organisation committed to bridging the gap between schools, businesses, RTO’s and industries - has partnered with Men of Business (MOB) Academy in an impactful initiative to re-engage Grade 12 students.

Men of Business Academy, located in Southport Queensland, is an Independent High School catering for young men in Years 11 & 12 who are looking for alternative learning from mainstream schooling.

The collaboration between MOB and Ampd Academy has provided students with essential certifications, setting them on the path to academic and professional success.

The initiative, spearheaded by Emily Bower, enabled participating students to complete the BSB30120 - Certificate III in Business, along with vital life-saving certifications including HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid, and the Bronze Award. Furthermore, through the support of Get My RSA (RTO: 45153), students were equipped with the SITHFAB021 - Provide responsible service of alcohol certification, adding a valuable asset to their skill set.

This initiative empowers students with a range of certifications, in addition to playing a pivotal role in facilitating their graduation from high school, overcoming initial disengagement. Many of the students, who may have faced barriers to academic success, were able to secure an additional 8 Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) points, marking a significant achievement in their educational journey. This initiative saw 20 out of the 22 boys finish all components of the program. This 90% completion rate is significantly higher than the 2022 national average of 20.25% (according to the NCVER DataBuilder).

Nathan Antonik, Head of Pathways at Men of Business Academy shared "MOB Academy is an Independent High School catering to year 11 and 12 young men. We utilised Ampd Academy to run a Cert III Business qualification to assist the boys in obtaining their QCE. We found Ampd to be extremely flexible in their planning, facilitation, and assessment.

“Ampd delivered a student-centric attitude, which enabled our boys to feel valued and comfortable. Nixon led the facilitation, and we feel that without his empathy and understanding, a few of our young men would not have successfully completed the qualification. If you have a student-centric attitude and are searching for an RTO that works with you in all stages of the education process, Ampd Academy should be your first choice."

Belle Legasbi, the Vocational Education and Training Coordinator at MOB Academy added "on behalf of the MOB Academy community, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for making the 2023 MOB VET Awards successful. We recently celebrated the completion of the students’ qualifications, but the journey between enrolment and completion is a credit to your dedication and support. The boys were beaming with pride, and your presence during the VET Awards was special and much appreciated by the MOB staff, students, and their families."

This partnership between Ampd and Men of Business Academy exemplifies a shared commitment to fostering educational engagement and empowering the future workforce with essential skills and qualifications. Ampd Academy remains dedicated to creating further opportunities for collaboration between educational institutions and businesses, serving as a catalyst for transformation in the educational landscape.
