AAC marks 20 years in event identification industry

2017 is seeing AAC ID Solutions marking its 20 year anniversary in business.

Founded in 1997 by Chief Executive Robert Borg as the first supplier of identification wristbands in Australia, the company has grown into a manufacturing, printing and production hub, today producing more than 25,000,000 Tyvek wristbands annually from it’s Gold Coast factory.

In addition, it supplies vast numbers of lanyards, ID cards and promotional products the company supplies for customers Australia wide.

Created as AAC Wristbands, and initially headed up by Kym Borg, AAC built a name for itself as a supplier of quality wristbands that excelled at customer service and never letting a customer down. As the business grew, Robert Borg came in on a full time basis to provide further support and leadership, and the business went from strength to strength.

As Robert Borg recalls “we knew that being the first to market was key for AAC, but we also knew that innovation was how we would build the business.”

Innovation saw, in 2009, AAC became the first, and still only, Tyvek wristband manufacturer in Australia with the purchase of a state of the art printing press.

The large investment paid dividends though, as Tyvek wristband sales continue to grow on the back of excellent relationships with music festivals, aquatic centres and others.

No longer reliant on wristband suppliers offshore, AAC could dictate the quality and turn around of its wristbands, providing further competitive advantage.

In recent years, AAC has moved strongly in to the promotional products and merchandise market, working with large events, venues and businesses all over Australia, supplying t-shirts, caps, drink bottles, bags and more. This growth has been based on the same core concept of customer service that initially made the business such a success.

Now, with a team of 13 and spacious production facilities in Helensvale, AAC is poised for more growth. Headed by printing industry professional Richard Weaver, AAC will soon be making exciting announcements about new core competencies where we can assist our valued customers.

Weaver explains “core business values remain, however, a technology and innovation surge is upon us and whilst AAC is a very different company from 20 years ago, we are still focused on customer service and solutions”.

On reaching 20 years in business, AAC is thanking its customers for their continued loyalty.
