24/7 Fitness grows Singapore presence following Gymmboxx acquisition

By Karen Sweaney

24/7 Fitness, one of Hong Kong's biggest 24-hour fitness brands, has spotlighted its Singapore offerings having acquired Gymmboxx in May 2024 – marking its commitment to providing accessible fitness solutions to Singaporeans.

Following the acquisition, all existing nine Gymmboxx branches were rebranded to 24/7 Fitness with Gymmboxx management staying on to work with the 24/7 Fitness management in building the new brand.

Ingrid Wong, 24/7 Fitness Chief Executive shared “Gymmboxx was a good choice (as a target), as both companies have the same business model, operation structure and similar goals in the fitness arena in Singapore.”

The Gymmboxx acquisition came amid a spate of closures in Singapore’s gym industry with Boutique gyms CLMB Studio, Ritual Gym, Fenix Fitness, Haus Athletics and boOm Singapore having all shuttered over the past year.

With 24/7 Fitness having 100 branches in Hong Kong, 22 in mainland China and two in Macau, Wong added “our goal is to establish a presence in major cities across Asia.”

Since the acquisition, 24/7 Fitness opened on Singapore's Orchard Road and has plans to open 40 locations over the next three years with the brand is set to become a go-to destination for fitness enthusiasts.

The 1,000 square metre Orchard flagship club is Singapore's largest 24/7 Fitness facility and boasts equipment from world-renowned brands. Offering advanced cardio machines and weight-training equipment, the gym is designed to meet the needs of all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes. As a 24-hour gym, members can work out conveniently, enjoying unparalleled flexibility in their fitness schedules.

Wong noted "our goal is to redefine fitness accessibility in Singapore by providing world-class facilities and services at an affordable price. By expanding to 40 locations over the next three years, 24/7 Fitness is committed to becoming the fitness brand of choice for Singaporeans who prioritise their health and well-being."

24/7 Fitness has already opened 14 branches in strategic locations across Singapore, including popular spots like Ci Yuan Community Club, Keat Hong Community Club, The Seletar Mall, Margaret Market and Yew Tee MRT. Other recently opened sites include The Cathay with upcoming sites including prominent destinations such as Jalan Besar, Beauty World and Tampines North Community Club.

24/7 Fitness offers a transparent pricing model starting at just $98 per month, with no joining fees or prepayment required. With access to all 24/7 Fitness locations across the Asia-Pacific region, members can enjoy flexibility and convenience wherever they choose to work out. For those seeking personalised guidance on their fitness journey, the gym has a team of dedicated personal trainers available to help customers achieve their goals.

With premium fitness equipment from brands including Life Fitness, Hammer Strength and GYM80, the team at 24/7 Fitness ensure that there are enough facilities to cater to all fitness levels and workout plans.

24/7 Fitness also uses cutting-edge technology with its Smart Face Recognition Terminal, allowing for seamless and secure access to all locations without the need for a physical key fob or card.

As part of its commitment to the local community, 24/7 Fitness aims to offer Singaporeans a premium fitness experience by combining convenience, technology, and value, ensuring that all Singaporeans can achieve their health and wellness goals.
