Zoggs Australia returns as Principal Partner for Laps for Life event to support youth mental wellness
Leading swim brand Zoggs Australia is returning as the Principal Partner for national fundraising event, Laps for Life, for a fourth year to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health and suicide prevention.
As part of the partnership, Zoggs is distributing branded products to qualifying Laps for Life participants - swim caps, Bondi goggles and swim towels - to incentivise fundraisers. The month-long swimming challenge in March will provide vital support for Australia’s most accessed online mental health service, ReachOut, and the one in four young people in Australia currently experiencing mental health issues.
ReachOut is the most accessed online mental health service for young people and their parents in Australia. Their trusted self-help information, peer-support program and referral tools save lives by helping young people be well and stay well. The information they offer parents makes it easier for them to help their teenagers, too.
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young people in Australia and in 2020, 454 young people in Australia died by suicide. ReachOut’s partnership with Zoggs is helping to save lives.
Zoggs General Manager Asia Pacific, Rob Davies notes “after a challenging few years for young people in Australia, connection and community has never been so important and we couldn’t be more proud to be supporting Laps for Life and engaging with the wider community to incentivise participants to sign up and fundraise for ReachOut, and reward our community in the process.
“We want all swimmers to enjoy the freedom, fun and exhilaration of the water, and we know that swimming can be really beneficial to your health and wellbeing, so investing in a partnership with ReachOut for a fourth year and supporting the mental health of young people across Australia aligns perfectly with our mission.”
Whether new to the water or a competitive swimmer, ReachOut and Zoggs are challenging people across Australia to jump in the water from 1st to 31st March and swim laps at the local pool, hit the beach or take part in an ocean swim to save lives and support all young people in Australia to be happy and well.
ReachOut Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Tracey Campbell adds “as our Principal Partner for a fourth year running, Zoggs Australia continues to make a positive difference to the mental health of young people in Australia and the success of Laps for Life would not be possible without their generous support.”
Laps for Life is open to everyone across Australia and is easy to take part in. People can get involved by visiting lapsforlife.com.au, signing up as an individual, or as a team with their colleagues, family or friends, setting a goal using the lap calculator, swimming and logging their laps.
