250 Australian Anytime Fitness clubs to join in events to raise funds for suicide prevention charity R U OK?
More than 250 Anytime Fitness clubs across Australia are set to be involved in Tread As One, a fundraising challenge in support of R U OK? being held from 15th to 22nd May.
Aiming to raise $500,000 for the suicide prevention charity R U OK?, Anytime Fitness hopes that each of its clubs will bring its members and the community together in raising awareness and funds for the initiative.
Explaining her commitment to the event, Anytime Fitness Forster Club Manager, Karen Wilkins told the Great Lakes Advocate “we're encouraging the community to run (or walk) as many kilometres as possible to go towards the club goal of 1200 kilometres and fundraise along the way
"65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life each year, this gives us 65,000 reasons to run.
"Anytime Fitness is fundraising for R U OK? because we know that meaningful conversations and checking in with those around us can change a life.
"Tread As One is a way for the community to come together and make a positive impact to raise awareness in a fun and supportive environment."
By taking part, Anytime Fitness Forster hopes to raise at least $6500 to contribute towards the overall target.
