Anytime Fitness Grafton named Fitness Business of the Year Award at 2020 Australian Fitness Awards

The third instalment of the 2020 virtual Australian Fitness Awards ceremony has announced Anytime Fitness in Grafton NSW as the national winner of the Fitness Business of the Year award, sponsored by Guild Insurance.

Held by the nation’s peak fitness industry body, Fitness Australia, the Awards recognise and celebrate individuals, businesses and community groups dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Australians by providing exceptional programs and high quality professional services.

The annual event is the only national awards program dedicated to the fitness industry and received a record 2,000 nominations across eleven categories for individuals, businesses and community groups.

Anytime Fitness Grafton has been recognised as the ‘Fitness Business of the Year’ for continuously delivering high-quality services and facilities to their members and going the extra mile to create a safe and supportive space for all.

Owners Kathryn Langford and Jenny Ryder strive to deliver professionalism and excellence from customer service, right through to training and support to ensure their members feel connected and supported throughout the entirety of their health and fitness journey.

Creating a positive and free from judgment environment for their members underpins every workforce decision made in an effort to nurture a welcoming and safe culture.

The team’s passion and effort to create community togetherness extends further with their ‘Changing Lives’ program.

Anytime Fitness Grafton introduced the ‘Changing Lives’ program in 2019 which embraces all members of the community by offering free memberships to those who are experiencing hardship - to show support during a difficult time and give them a space where they feel like they belong, no matter their ability.

Fitness Australia Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish, congratulated the Australian Fitness Award winners and said the award recipients’ stories of commitment and excellence were outstanding.

Elvish notes “every award winner has demonstrated the upmost dedication to the health and wellbeing of their communities through consistently delivering high quality services in a professional and safe manner.

“Furthermore, it is humbling to hear the stories of our members going above and beyond to connect and support their local communities, to create a space that is much more than just an exercise facility.”

An expert panel, consisting of a diverse group of industry representatives, conducted a thorough assessment of each finalist across a range of areas including professionalism, customer care, knowledge and skills, safety, and leadership to select the category winners.

The next virtual award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 12th May and will announce this year’s Not-for-profit Fitness Business of the Year.
