World’s top attractions named in 2015 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards

TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel site has announced its Travellers’ Choice™ awards for amusement parks, waterparks, zoos and aquariums around the globe.

Based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers across the globe, award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for amusement parks, water parks, zoos, and aquariums worldwide, gathered over a 12 month period.

TripAdvisor spokesperson Scott Wegener explained “travellers who are in search of excitement or want to be close to nature should look no further.

“There is a wide variety of activities to appeal to all ages at these top-rated amusement and water parks, zoos and aquariums across the globe.”

With 533 attractions honoured in this year’s awards, Sydney’s Taronga Zoo in Sydney took the 15th spot in the global zoos list.

Welcoming this recognition, Taronga General Manager Marketing and Tourism, Libby Hodgson, stated “Taronga is delighted to be recognised among fellow world zoos for excellence in the presentation and care of wildlife.

“This reaffirms the charismatic appeal of the animals in our care and the role they play in engaging Taronga's visitors in helping to create a shared future for wildlife and people.”

With a low number of Asian attractions on the list, Singapore's S.E.A. Aquarium and Singapore Zoo both featured among the top aquariums and zoos.
