Abel Sports equip A-League clash at the SCG
With the Sydney Cricket Ground set to host a number of Sydney FC A-League fixtures while the Allianz Stadium is being rebuilt, Abel Sports have equipped the famous venue with a range of goal posts.
In addition to the Abel Sports AFL posts already in use at the venue, Abel Sports have supplied posts for both football and rugby league.
As the image below from the Weekend Australian shows, Head Curator Justin Groves and a groundsman colleague prepared the grounds and goals for the 27th October Sydney Derby between Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers. The fixture was the first time football had been played at the SCG in over 30 years.
The result went in Sydney FC’s favour, 2-0.
Abel Sports Project Manager, Dean Andreula supervised the installation of the goals along with Groves.
Abel Sports Australian made goals are also installed at AAMI Park in Melbourne, the Adelaide Oval and Perth’s Optus Stadium.
