Womadelaide stage damaged by fire after end of world music and dance festival

Fire damaged the main stage at Botanic Park in Adelaide just hours after the Womadelaide festival ended on Sunday (9th March).

South Australia's Metropolitan Fire Service advised the ABC that the blaze was tackled by nine crews after it broke out at the rear of the 30-metre-square stage.

The damage bill is put at up to $300,000.

The fire has been blamed on an electrical fault.

More than 20,000 music lovers spent the long weekend at the world dance and music event.
