Caravanning and camping popularity continues

The Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA), organisers of the recent Penrith Caravan, Camping and Holiday Expo, have reported that the event was the strongest in years.
Over 27,000 people attended the Penrith Expo from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September at the Penrith Panthers Exhibition Centre.
CCIA NSW Chief Executive Lyndel Gray was delighted with the success of the Expo and the positive impact it will have on the domestic holiday market.
Gray explained "people of all ages were out in huge numbers from young families, to retirees and everything in between! They were actively investigating options for their next holiday, researching and purchasing their first camping products and upgrading their family caravans and luxury motorhomes.
"The large visitor numbers at the Expo will have a direct impact on sales of tents and camping equipment, 4WD and touring accessories, caravans, motorhomes and holiday park bookings in future months."
Exhibitors at the Penrith Expo were also delighted with the event.
Narelle Wood, Five Star Campers : "It is evident that consumer confidence has returned. Our sales and the genuine interest in our products have assured us that our industry is as strong as ever. I was astounded by the lengths that visitors travelled to attend the Expo."
Josh Taylor, Lake Keepit State Park: "This was definitely a record Expo for me. I ran out of flyers and the queries about the park just kept coming over the three days."
