WhiteWater announces first Zoo Installation
One of the USA's most beloved zoos, the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, has launched WhiteWater's first aquaplay installation in a North American zoo. A new splash park, the 'Cool Zoo', has come to life with WhiteWater's award-winning AquaPlay multi-level interactive structure, adding a refreshing new element to the popular zoo.
WhiteWater's designers have created a custom 360-degree themed focal point on its AP550 structure to mimic Spot, the zoo's rare white alligator. However, this AquaPlayTM gator doubles Spot in size; measuring 8.5 metres in height and 10.1 metres in length. One-of-a-kind, this gigantic gator chomps down on a tipping bucket, drenching children of all ages with tons of not-so-swampy water. What's more, its tail doubles as a fun, waterslide engaging kids in the overall experience.
This patented AquaPlay AP550 provides hours of splashing entertainment with an additional 60 features including interactive tipping cones, jets, spray nozzles, valves, water guns, as well as waterslides, pull ropes and a climbing net.
Geoff Chutter, WhiteWater's Chief Executive explains "we've been chomping with anticipation to announce this AquaPlay installation (and are) proud to assist the Audubon Zoo in its dedication to nature.
"We had a great time designing and constructing Spot's oversized AquaPlay twin".
WhiteWater has also celebrated its 30th anniversary, during which it has successfully completed 4,000 projects worldwide with 450 employees in 15 offices internationally.
Chutter launched WhiteWater in 1980, when he saw an opportunity to enter into the newly developing waterpark industry.
On 15th December 1980, the company broke ground at the WhiteWater Waterslide & Recreation Complex, in Penticton, Canada. Today, WhiteWater specialises in the planning and designing of waterparks, and the manufacturing of waterslides, multi-level play structures, wave-generating equipment and much more.
