$16 million events centre for Okara Park
The Whangarei District Council has shortlisted five firms from an initial 14 expressions of interest to build a $16 million multi-purpose events centre at Whangarei.
The development, alongside the Homeworld Stadium at Okara Park is set to be completed before the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
The Northland Regional Council is funding $13 million of the venture and the Whangarei District Council $3 million.
