Live music and triathlon among Lake Macquarie festival offerings

The Lake Mac Festival is underway with the inaugural four month long festival including live music and triathlon in March. Lake Macquarie City Council Manager Arts Culture and Tourism Jacqui Hemsley enthused "it will be thrilling to see Speers Point Park come alive this Saturday 8th March for the Lookout Festival run by Face to Face touring.

"We're going to see music icons such as JET, Grinspoon, The Veronicas, Spiderbait, Jebediah, Magic Dirt, and Youth Group in one electrifying event.

"It forms part of our first-ever four-month Lake Mac Festival, running from January to April, packed with events to entertain locals and visitors alike."

Continuing with live music on Sunday 23rd March, the internationally acclaimed Eishan Ensemble will bring their fusion of Persian and contemporary jazz music to Rathmines Theatre, Lake Macquarie.

A First Nations Papua New Guinean artist Ngaiire will showcase her distinctive sound and powerful vocals at Warners Bay Theatre baramayiba on Saturday 29th March.

Meanwhile, Unfurl, which celebrates LGBTQIA+ art, culture and community, will go ahead at the Multi-Arts Pavilion (MAP) mima.

For those who enjoy action and adventure, the newest multi-sport festival in Australia, the Lake Mac Triathlon, will run from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th March.

Hemsley added "set against the of vista Lake Macquarie, the event features a flat and fast cycle and run course, with the swim set against the backdrop of Speers Point Park.

"Bringing together athletes, supporters and the local community, this sporting event will inspire competition and camaraderie."

The Black Pearl will launch the 2025 Quad Crown series from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th March.

Glenrock's trails will host the Friday prelude time trial and feature in Sunday's stage, with riders tackling a thrilling 10km loop to set their weekend handicap.
