Westpac Stadium marks a year of Mezzanine Lounge operations

Today (Friday 17th April) marks the first anniversary of the opening of the Mezzanine Lounge at Westpac Stadium, a space which has been enjoyed by thousands fans to date.

The development, the first upgrade of the public concourse in the Stadium's 15-year history, measures 60 metres in length and with 10 metre-high windows takes in the full expanse of Wellington Harbour.

With a busy summer of Cruise Ships visiting the city, fans are often treated to a close up of the multi-storey vessels which park up alongside the Stadium at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.

Open to all ticket holders on all game days, the Mezzanine Lounge has become a popular meeting point for fans particularly before the match and at half-time.

The Lounge offers a great range of food options, all for under $10. The most popular dish to date has been the chicken burger, followed by nasi goreng and the Italian-style meatballs. Other food items include roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, burritos, sushi and now also a great range of pizzas.

To ensure fans don’t miss a moment of the action on the field, the Lounge also provides large video walls at each end of the space, Wi-Fi, and a recharging station for smartphones.

Commenting on the success of the Mezzanine Lounge over the past year, Westpac Stadium Chief Executive Shane Harmon stated “this Lounge has been a great asset to our Stadium. It is a fresh, modern space and gives fans even more options to enjoy the game.

“The new food choices have been really well received and the Lounge always has a great buzz to it.

“It is also proving to be a great function space, with many companies hosting fantastic corporate events on non-match days, taking advantage of one of the best harbour views in town.”
