Colac Otway Council to introduce Matrix Upper-body cycle at Bluewater gym

Colac Otway Shire Council has advised that an upgrade to its Bluewater gym will include some of the most innovative fitness equipment in Australia.

The gym will close from Sunday 13th July (at 4pm), re-opening Saturday 19th July (at 8am) for an upgrade of gym equipment and facilities.

Following that, the gym will become the first in Australia to feature the new Matrix Upper-body cycle while also adding an assault runner and a Reformer Pilates space with 10 reformer beds.

With the gym closed to remove old equipment and install the new pieces there will be no Group Fitness Classes during this time. However, the aquatic facilities including the 25m pool, warm water pool, spa and sauna will remain open, along with the sports hall.

Gold Members will not be charged for membership during the closure, while Platinum Members will only pay the reduced Aquatic Membership rate.

There will be an official relaunch on Monday 21st July to celebrate the new state of the art equipment.

Advising that the upgrade will ensure the community had access to high-quality amenities, Colac Otway Shire General Manager of Community and Economy, Ian Seuren stated "this upgrade is more than just new equipment; it's about creating a vibrant, inclusive space where our community can thrive.

“We're excited to bring cutting-edge fitness options to Bluewater, making it a hub for health, wellness and connection.

“Facilities like Bluewater enhance people’s quality of life, promote physical activity, provide social opportunities, and contribute to the shire’s attractiveness as a place to live, work and visit.

“We understand the short term inconvenience caused by the temporary gym closure, and we appreciate the community’s patience during this period."
