WaterMarc marks first birthday, celebrates 650,000 visits
In its first year of operations WaterMarc, northern Melbourne's largest aquatic and recreation facility, has welcomed over 650,000 casual and member visits.
Developed by Banyule City Council and managed by Belgravia Leisure, WaterMarc opened its doors in September of last year. The $42 million centre is home to 'Tantrum Alley' the largest indoor waterslide in the southern hemisphere, as well as a premier gym, 50 metre indoor swimming pool, and a wide range of fitness classes and training programs.
To mark the centre's first birthday a family fun day celebration was held at which, for only $5 per person, patrons were able to enjoy all off WaterMarc's facilities as well as some great free birthday entertainment including a pool inflatable, photo booth, live entertainment, group fitness classes, face painting and more.
Over the past 12 months WaterMarc has established itself as a leader in providing a range of services to its local community as well as to visitors from across metropolitan Melbourne. Employing over 250 staff, WaterMarc delivers excellent services for all, from casual swimmers to the most dedicated of exercise junkies, and to all the families who flock to the centre to enjoy the thrills and fun of the waterslides and aqua play areas.
WaterMarc was featured in the November/December 2012 issue of Australasian Leisure Management.
