VMA launches Venue Safety and Security education program
The Venue Management Association (VMA) has announced the launch of an education program aimed at improving safety and security in venues safe.
Described as “an important step in improving safety, security and risk management in venues in the Asia-Pacific region”, the immersive five day Institute of Venue Safety and Security (IVSS) program aims to deliver training and education to both venue employees and suppliers to the industry, and offers the resources and tools needed to face this ever-changing landscape.
IVSS has a mission to provide leadership, knowledge, and training to keep our venues safe and secure, and to understand and manage the broad range of threats that can impact the hosting of successful events.
The program, which will take place at Sydney’s CommBank Stadium from Sunday 27th August to Friday 1st September 2023, includes:
16 industry specific senior level Instructors
In-depth, hands-on experience with practical exercises and activities
Equips attendees with the best practices, resources and tools needed to provide safe venues
Who should attend IVSS?
A residential program delivered by a diverse range of experts to train venue and event managers, security professionals and other key personnel, the IVSS’ instructors are industry leading professionals from Australia, New Zealand and Europe in roles such as global vice president – risk, head of security and safety, director of facilities and vice president IT and security.
IVSS will equip every attendee with the best practices, resources and tools needed to face the ever changing landscape of providing safe venues.
The program is designed as an in-depth, hands on experience with practical exercises and activities. Attendees who complete the program will gain new skills, valuable resources and practical advice to bolster their professional growth and add value to their organisation.
The VMA is accepting enrolments now for the inaugural edition of the IVSS.
Enrolment fees include the five nights’ accommodation at Novotel Sydney Parramatta, all meals during the program; site tours; textbook; Graduation Ceremony and Dinner.
