VMA announces 2024 Venue Industry Award winners

The Venue Management Association (VMA) has announced the winners of its 2024 Venue Industry Awar ds, presented last night at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, as part of the Association’s 31st Asia-Pacific Venue Industry Congress.

The premier awards program for venue management professionals in the Asia-Pacific region, the Venue Industry Awards have a rich history of recognising leaders, game changers and innovators.

Showcasing the best of the industry’s talent since 2010, these Awards celebrate individuals who are achieving great results in their career and making a wider contribution to the industry. They are awarded based on the nominees' achievements over the previous calendar year.

The winners for 2024 are:

Venue Professional of the Year Award, proudly sponsored by Ross Video

Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises the outstanding achievements of our industry stalwarts, where an exceptional individual has made a significant contribution to the Association, the venue management profession and our industry in the Asia Pacific region.
Awarded to: Judy Vince CVE, Group General Manager, Crown Theatres

Honorary Life Membership
The VMA recognises Honorary Life Membership as one of the most prestigious awards available to its members. It is bestowed upon individual Members who have provided exceptional, loyal, and outstanding service and contributions to the Association over an extended period.
Awarded to: Tim Worton CVE, Group Director - Arenas, ASM Global

Commenting on the presentations, VMA President, Phil King AVM noted “our industry attracts remarkable individuals, driven by passion and uniquely dedicated to what they do. These individuals go the extra mile to provide memorable moments for their patrons and to deliver outstanding events, which become ingrained in our nation’s culture. At the VMA, we take pride in celebrating their achievements.

“This year, we received the largest number of Award nominations to date, a testament to the industry's vibrancy. Each nominee's submission captivated the judging panel with its compelling and heartfelt narrative. Undoubtedly, all nominees are deserving of recognition.

“Congratulations to this year’s winners, Peter, Cameron and Tyrie, to our Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Judy Vince CVE, and to our newest Honorary Life Member, Tim Worton CVE.”

The VMA also announced Perth as the host city for the 2025 Congress.
