Victorian ski resorts enjoy significant early season snowfalls
Victoria’s ski resorts have enjoyed 60 centimetres of snow as they enter the second weekend of the 2018 ski season.
After the Bureau of Meteorology forecast a potentially slow start to the ski season in its winter outlook, Falls Creek, the Dinner Plain lift and toboggan areas and Mt Hotham recorded a massive weekend of snowfall
While maximum temperatures are tipped to lift to around three degrees throughout the week, snowfalls over the weekend are a promising sign for the remainder of the season.
Victorian ski resorts say they have no plans to replicate a major NSW resort's ban on tobogganing.
Mt Buller, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek have also announed that they will not follow NSW ski resorts will not ban tobagganing.
The management of Thredbo sparked criticism on social media by announcing last month by introducing a blanket ban on the fun snow pursuit due to safety concerns.
