Victorian Institute of Sport names new General Manager High Performance
The Victorian Institute of Sport has advised of the appointment of Hannah Every-Hall as its new General Manager High Performance.
A former champion rower who represented Australia across a 17-year career, Every-Hall first competed for Australia at the Nations Cup in 1999 in Hamburg, Germany where she won the U23 Lightweight Women’s Double Sculls. She went on to represent Australia at seven World Rowing Cups and multiple World Championships, as well as competing at the London 2012 Olympic Games, where she finished fifth in the lightweight double scull.
Every-Hall was one of three women to make history at the London 2012 Games as they became the first Australian mothers to compete in rowing at an Olympic competition.
Off the water, she is highly experienced and a very highly regarded leader of people and teams, with a focus on enabling athletes and coaches to achieve their best.
Every-Hall has a degree in Human Movement, as well as a Masters’ Degree in Dietetics from Deakin University. She also has high performance coaching accreditations and currently holds the role of Head Women’s Coach at Caulfield Grammar, a position she will be transitioning from to take up her VIS role.
She currently works with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) in the role of Sport Services Manager and was previously the Modern Pentathlon Australia Pathways & Performance Director. She is also currently a member of the World Rowing Athletes Commission and Fairness Committee.
Announcing the appointment, Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) Chief Executive, Anne Marie Harrison advised “Hannah brings a great blend of experience as an athlete, coach, scientist, and manager to the role, along with her personal characteristics of warmth, passion and a ‘can do’ attitude.
“Her knowledge of the HP system and our stakeholders will hold her in good stead in forming the important partnerships with her programs.”
Every-Hall (pictured) joins the VIS on 12th September 2023, following her notice period with the AOC and pre-existing commitment as Team Manager for the Modern Pentathlon World Championships/Olympic Qualifier in late August.
